Medical Genetics Laboratory, Kennedy Center, is a fully equipped laboratory performing up to date molecular genetic and cytogenetic analyses. Together with the other laboratories in Clinical Genetics Clinic, Rigshospitalet, we provide clinical genetic diagnostic laboratory services to national and international hospitals and clinics.
Medical Genetics Laboratory, Kennedy Center, is accredited according to the European standard for medical laboratories DS/EN ISO 15189:2013. We obtained our flexible ISO 15189 accreditation in 2011, after approval by the Danish Accreditation Fund, DANAK (http://www.danak.dk/).
Our analyses aim at facilitating patient diagnosis, treatment and research. Together with the research department, Center for Applied Human Molecular Genetics, at the Kennedy Center, we implement and develop relevant new analytical methodologies in genetic diagnostics.
Our diagnostic laboratory particularly focuses on analyses for disorders involving intellectual disability and neurodevelopmental disorders, visual impairment and eye malformations, hearing loss, defects in copper metabolism, imprinting errors, dystonia, and PKU.
